  • Letter (612 × 792 pts): Standard US paper size (8.5" × 11")
  • Legal (612 × 1008 pts): US legal documents (8.5" × 14")

When to Resize PDFs

  • Printing Requirements: Adjust to match your printer's paper size
  • International Documents: Convert between US Letter and A4 for international use
  • Presentations: Resize to match display dimensions
  • Booklets: Create smaller formats like A5 for booklets
  • Posters: Enlarge to A3 or larger for printing

Scaling Tips

  • Scale Content On: Maintains aspect ratio and prevents distortion
  • Scale Content Off: Changes page size but keeps content original size (may crop or add margins)
  • Points to Inches: Divide points by 72 (e.g., 595 pts ≈ 8.27 inches)
  • Points to Millimeters: Multiply points by 0.353 (e.g., 595 pts ≈ 210 mm)
